Why You Should Vote YES on Measure 56
- Currently, under the “double majority” requirement, people who don’t vote have just as much of a say as the people who care enough about their communities to cast their ballot. It isn’t fair that people who don’t take the time or effort to vote can cancel out the vote of someone who does.
- Measure 56 would restore fairness to local elections. The double majority requirement violates the basic principle of democracy, where if you don’t vote, you don’t count.
