Vote No on Measures 58 to 64
We did it. We--all of us working together--stood up to Bill Sizemore, Kevin Mannix, and their corporate special interest funders, and told them that Oregon is not interested in their dangerous ballot measures.
These victories were the direct result of individuals and organizations who came together to protect what we love about this state.
And that’s what made the difference. Sizemore and Mannix may have endless resources from their out-of-state millionaire funders, but we have something even more powerful: You. Thank you for everything you did to literally defend Oregon.
By passing Measures 56 and 57, and soundly rejecting Measures 58 through 64, Oregon voters said they believe in:
* Continuing to improve our schools and dedicating resources to classrooms, without taking local control away or instituting one-size-fits-all mandates that don't work
* Addressing the problems of property crime by focusing on treatment, not failed sentencing gimmicks
* Tax policies that don't give massive windfalls to the wealthiest one percent at the expense of middle-income and working families.
More than 200 groups from around the state—including labor unions, charities, non-profit organizations, businesses, advocates for children and seniors, and community groups—came together as the Defend Oregon Coalition to educate voters on the impacts of these measures.
The members of the coalition:
* Hand-delivered 360,000 pieces of literature
* Made more than 1 million phone calls to voters
* Sent more than 2 million emails about ballot measure impacts
We couldn’t have done it without you and the organizations that were a part of the Defend Oregon Coalition. Because of the work that you did, Oregon will continue to be a place we are proud to call home.
